Azek and stainless, just for a “temporary” basement penetration? Absolutely! Because we didn’t feel like trying to penetrate a solid 16” wall including some brick, and because there could be a deck or addition in this spot down the road, and because its easier to replace a window pane than patch a permanent hole. We solved the problem by knocking out one window pane and building an Azek box to fit the space as well as use a quality, stainless vent box to vent a dryer in the basement of this old house. Inside, we built a wall and platform with finish grade plywood to house all the mechanicals. At Birch & Beam, we strive to exceed expectations, even for “temporary” solutions.
